After your vehicle passes the DOT truck inspection, you'll receive a new inspection sticker along with a report detailing the results of your test. If your vehicle fails due to its emissions, you are given 60 days after the test to have repairs performed and pass a re-inspection.
After repairing a problem, you can have your commercial truck re-inspected for free so long as the retest is performed at the original inspection station. Please also keep in mind that drivers are entitled to only one free re-test. If you do not fix your commercial vehicle's problems and are unable to pass inspection for the new year, your truck's registration will be suspended.
